When it comes to hitches and towing products, we understand that there is a vast array of products and brands on the market. We do not make our product decisions based on market share or margins, as some retailers do. Our decisions in this category are based on our experiences with the products, in-house product comparisons (including quality of product, overall value, and functionality), and our knowledge about the manufacturers.

When it comes to 5th wheel hitches, one of my major concerns is customer safety. If you have ever seen a truck that has been in a head-on collision with a 5th wheel attached, you will understand why. I will start with what hitches I don't like or won't sell. First off is going to be structure. If the hitch does not have structural integrity in certain points, it will crumple in a collision, driving your fifth wheel directly into the cab of your tow vehicle. Certain hitches will advertise a weight capacity based on a crush test. This is an incorrect way to determine a weight capacity, as the majority of the torque placed on a 5th wheel hitch is front and back. This way of determining weight capacity leads to the release of products with poor structural design - an all-around unsafe hitch.
Another poorly conceived product is the goose-neck adapter. Goose-neck adapters are designed under the assumptions that the trailer frame can handle the extra stress placed upon it while using this hitch. Normally, the kingpin of a 5th wheel, when secured in a 5th wheel hitch, has stress placed on it from the lateral motion of the tow vehicle. When you add the goose-neck adapter, the lateral motion turns into a pivoting / pendulum-like motion, addig a lot of twisting stress to the frame of the camper, much more than it was designed to take.
My preference is always to go with an American made hitch. A lot of the products made overseas use inferior steel. American made products not only generally offer better quality but support American jobs and local economies.

Demco, along with being a great company to work with, is only 19 miles away from us, making them a natural fit as they also support our local economy. The jaw system that they use on their 5th wheel hitches is the best in the industry. They offer a great product line at a competitive price point. I am especially excited about their new Recon goose-neck ball adaptable hitch as it will fit any truck that has a goose-neck ball.

It is a high quality hitch at hundreds of dollars less than comparable products on the market. It is easy to use, as it can be installed and removed in a couple of minutes and can be taken out in two pieces giving you much less weight to have to lift in and out of your truck bed. Demco has a full line of 5th wheel hitches to meet any need, and to fit any application. Whether you are looking for a standard bed rail setup or an auto-slider with under-bed mounting hardware, Demco has you covered.
B&W is also a top pick when it comes to 5th wheel hitches. Like Demco, B&W is also based in a small town, and works hard to support their local economy. B&W builds a heavy duty hitch. One of my favorite things about their hitches is the ability to adjust them. The arm mounting positions are customizable to fit your needs. Not only for height, but also to gain more cab clearance and turning radius, which often allows enough added clearance so that you don't need to move into a sliding hitch.

B&W has a variety of hitches capable of meeting many specific needs. They have a very popular aftermarket turnoverball gooseneck hitch, that has a companion 5th wheel hitch. This has always been one of my favorite hitches, and one that I have used and loved. But no matter what B&W hitch you need, I can assure you that it will be an all-around good, solid, versatile, heavy-duty hitch.
